Why World Languages Education at ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½?

  • With a growing number of English language learners in Rhode Island schools and increased interest among many native English speakers to learn a second language, multilingual teachers are in high demand.
  • We currently offer a concentration in Spanish.*
  • Upon completion of our program, our students are eligible for full certification to teach world languages education in all grades (pre-K-12) in Rhode Island.
  • Along with coursework, our students hone their teaching skills through multiple field placements in K-12 and community-based settings.
  • Topics covered include: educational psychology, linguistics, applied grammar, special education, teaching emergent bilinguals and student teaching.

*Program Update: Enrollment in our French and Portuguese concentrations is currently suspended.
